Football is the most popular sport in Europe and the one with the most significant media coverage. The most outstanding Spanish teams at the national and international level are Real Madrid and FC Barcelona, but there are also others with a lot of tradition in the country, such as Atletico Madrid (‘Atleti’), Sevilla, Athletic Club de Bilbao, or Valencia.

- UEFA Champions League
Formerly known as the Europe Cup, the Champions League is an annual tournament, organized by the Union of European football associations (UEFA) and held by the top European clubs, more specifically by the Champions of the national leagues, plus one, two or three finalist teams of each league. It is, in turn, one of the most-watched competitions in the world, the most appreciated club tournament in European football, and the most-watched annual sporting event in the world.
- World cup FIFA Football
Also known as the World Cup, it is the most important tournament that exists at the level of national selections, and since 1930 it takes place every four years in different countries. The World Cup has two main stages: a previous qualifying stage, in which about 200 countries participate, and a final stage in which 32 finalists compete. The World Cup has been held on 20 occasions, in which eight states have been victorious; the team that has the most drinks taken home has been Brazil, with a total of zinc.
- Euro Cup
It is the most important international tournament of National Football teams in Europe; it takes place every four years and is organized by UEFA. The most successful selections in this tournament are Germany and Spain, with three titles each. In 2016 the victory was from Portugal, who defeated France in the final.
- Professional Football league – La Liga
It is the main competition at the level of first division clubs in Spain, and is considered as one of the best leagues in the world, according to the World Ranking of national leagues of the International Federation of History and Statistics of Football (IFFHS), in which it occupies the first place consecutively since 2010. Throughout its history, only nine clubs have won champions, with Real Madrid being the team that has won the most victories (33 championships).
- Copa del Rey
It is a national championship that takes place every year, and in the last edition was won by FC Barcelona, obtaining his 29th Cup after the final against the Basque team, Deportivo Alavés. It is the oldest national football championship in the country, and its first edition was played in 1903. Throughout history, there have been 14 clubs that have been championing.
